The Association of Citizens Akcija Zdruzhenska in
collaboration with Zenski Centar, Debar and Centre for Sustainable Development
of the Community, Debar on 07.05.2010 organized a seminar on topic “Towards more
effective implementation of the Law on Equal Opportunities of Women and Men in
LSG Debar”. The seminar that was held in the premises of Centre for
Sustainable Development of the Community in Debar, attended 17 representatives
from LSG Debar, local institutions and organizations.
The aim of this seminar was to open discussion for the
specific role and responsibilities of the each relevant actor within the local
government, women activism and other organizations/institutions in Municipality
of Debar towards implementation of the Law on Equal Opportunities of Women and
Men.
Furthermore, the seminar was an opportunity for mutual
informing of the participants for the future plans and priorities of the
relevant actors in the Municipality and modalities of collaboration towards
achieving the goals of the Law.
As a basis for a discussion were presented findings of the
analysis “Monitoring of the implementation of the Law on Equal Opportunities of
Women and Men in the local self-government in Republic of Macedonia” conducted
by Akcija Zdruzhenska in 2008, in order to obtain relevant informations on how
the Law is implemented by the relevant actors in LSG and to develop directions
and solutions for its more efficient implementation.
This activity is carried out within the Annual Program of
Akcija Zdruzenska for 2010, financially supported by CIVICA Mobilitas,
FOSIM-Macedonia and Balkan Trust for Democracy.
