In the framework of its activities for integration of the gender equality
issue into the policies and plans for development of the local self-government
units, the Association of Citizens Akcija Zdruzhenska on 18.09.2007 organized
workshop with representatives of the Local Self-Government of Sveti Nikole.
Legal obligations of the Commissions on Equal Opportunities foreseen with the
Law on Equal Opportunities between men and women were pointed out on this
meeting as well as the legal consequences for not revering.
Afterwards 7 key proposals for integration of the gender equality polices
were presented. Representatives of the municipal Council put up their problems
they are confronting in their everyday work. At the end instructions for
functioning of the Commission were given.
