Civic Association „Akcija Zdruzhenska" on 15 December 2008 in Hotel Karpos,
Skopje organised a consultation meeting on the topic „Gender
Equality and Women’s Empowerment EC Pre-accession Assistance Macedonia ".
This gathering was an opportunity to initiate a dialogue
between governmental, non-governmental and EU representatives in Macedonia as
well as other relevant organisations around the process of integration and
operationalisation of gender equality as a cross-cutting issue in the planning
and implementation of the pre-accession assistance to Macedonia.
The discussion was based on the
findings of the initial assessment conducted by Akcija Zdruzhenska within
the framework of the activities of the International Gender Policy Network,
aimed at reaffirming gender equality as one of the key principles of the EU
development policy.
