Sources of funding: UN Women (In the framework of the UN Women project “Promoting Gender Responsive Policies and Budgets: Towards Transparent, Inclusive and Accountable Governance in the Republic of North Macedonia – Phase 2”and the programme “Promoting Gender Responsive Governance in the Republic of North Macedonia” funded by Switzerland and Sweden.)
Implementing partner organizations: Women Civic initiative „Klea“– Bitola; Women Civic Initiative – Sveti Nikole; Radika De-Debar; Association Women’s Forum-Tetovo and „Women’s Lobby“-Demir Kapija.
Overall objective: Meaningful participation of women in the local self-governments programing and budgeting
Specific project objectives:
- Local women civil society organizations strengthen their advocacy capacities with expanded field presence as well as empowered support networks among rural women.
- Constructive policy advocacy input towards inclusive and gender responsive local governance developed and provided by the diverse community of marginalized women in front of LSG.Expected Results :
- 15 additional Circles established as informal/formal branches of targeted organizations in rural and neglected rural areas in 12 municipalities;
- At least 13 of Circles involved in advocacy educational workshops have implemented the action plan for direct advocacy and information exchange in accordance with the LSG annual programming and budgeting cycle;
- 1500 women to be involved in outreach activities in targeted regions
- At least 500 women from total targeted with outreach activities involved in provision of advocacy input
- 36 field outreach initiatives implemented in 12 municipalities
- At least 36 new priority policy proposal provided by community women submitted in 12 municipalities
- At least 12 priority policy adopted (one from each LSG)
