Akcija Zdruzenska shared its experience in building women’s leadership with participants of Kvinna till Kvinna’s “Leadership Programme”

Sonja Hadzi-Nikolov from Akcija Zdruzenska met with the participants of the Leadership Programme implemented by the Kvinna till Kvinna office in Stockholm, designed to support and empower young women with a migration background in Sweden.

During the meeting, she introduced the participants to the organization’s long-standing experience and expertise in building women’s leadership and strengthening women’s roles in local communities.

By sharing examples from fieldwork, the discussion highlighted ways in which women can become drivers of change within their own communities.

The Kvinna till Kvinna Leadership Programme is a national initiative aimed at developing young women with a migration background in Sweden into future leaders and agents of social change. The programme responds to growing social challenges such as violence and segregation faced by people living in vulnerable communities. By providing leadership skills, the goal is to counteract these negative phenomena and promote positive development.

The programme addresses increasingly evident social issues such as violence, segregation, and crime in suburban areas. Young women from these communities have shown great potential to be drivers of change.

Through a one-year comprehensive training in leadership, migration, and gender equality, the participants are equipped to lead joint initiatives and contribute to building a better future.
