Educational workshop on budget literacy in Kadrifakovo

Organized by GIZ “St. Nikole”, an educational workshop dedicated to budget literacy was held in the village of Kadrifakovo, as part of activities aimed at strengthening women’s circles and encouraging greater participation of women in local decision-making processes.

During the workshop, women from Kadrifakovo had the opportunity to discuss the importance of the municipal budget, the way funds are planned and allocated, as well as the ways in which citizens can influence the setting of local priorities.

The discussion showed that the participating women were not informed about the size of the municipal budget, nor about the activities and measures planned within municipal programmes for their village. This highlighted the need for greater transparency, better access to information, and more active involvement of citizens in local processes. During the conversation, the women also shared the everyday challenges faced by their community, including the lack of a local shop, difficulties in accessing clean drinking water, and the absence of a sewage system. They emphasized that these issues are not only infrastructure-related challenges, but also directly affect the quality of life of all residents.
