On September 29, women from Debar and Centar Zhupa took part in the public debate “Women’s Leadership as a Reflection of the Community”, where they openly discussed their needs, experiences and opportunities for greater participation in local decision-making. The discussion focused on concrete everyday issues, including access to drinking water, waste management, public spaces, children’s playgrounds and the activation of local communities.
The debate highlighted that local problems are best identified by women who face them in their everyday lives, and that their active participation can contribute to finding concrete local solutions. The women emphasized that they want to be informed, heard and included in local decision-making processes throughout the year, not only before elections.
The activity was organized by the Humanitarian Association “Majka” Kumanovo, in cooperation with Radika-De Association, as part of the project “Women Take the Lead in Local Communities”, funded by the European Union and co-financed by Sweden.
