Overall objective: Improved women’s influence on the policy planning and decision making
Specific project objectives:
- Supporting the sustainability of the outreach women empowerment approach as a regular programming framework of local organizations regardless of the thematic area (participation, economic status, violence, etc);
- Further development of the organizational/management capacities of local women organizations, with flexible core financial support they will be able to maintain continuity of operations and more effectively use the resources obtained from other sources while keeping the focus on the community work;
- Building horizontal alliances between women’s organizations and women from the communities for exchange and cooperation, mutual support and solidarity advocacy of women’s civic participation and gender responsive policies and budgets in institutions at local and national level;
- Continuous monitoring and the collected overview data on the progress in implementation of the gender equality legal commitments to gender mainstreaming with primary focus on efficiency of implementation of the new Gender Equality Law expected for adoption in 2021.
Expected Results :
- Strengthened advocacy capacities of 6 local women NGOs (Women’s Civic Initiative WCI - Sveti Nikole; Organization of Women – Strumica; Association Radika De – Debar; Association for Advancement of the Status of Women in Macedonia „Women’s Action“– Radovis; Humanitarian Association „Majka“ – Kumanovo and Organization of women „Women’s Lobby“ – Demir Kapija);
- Strengthened advocacy input into national policy debate on the gender equality priorities and gender mainstreaming
