The Association of citizens "Akcija Zdruzhenska" on 28 (Thursday) January,
2010, in Hotel Karpos, Skopje, organized a consultative meeting on topic
"Towards more effective polices for gender equality in R. Macedonia"
The meeting gathered civil society representatives who continuously monitor
the situation with gender equality and women’s rights, government’s institutions
whose mandate is the development and implementation of policies of this plan,
and international organizations / institutions that have an active role and
influence these processes.
The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences, identified gaps and
priorities for achieving more effective development and implementation of
specific policies on gender equality in Macedonia.
The organization of this meeting stemmed from the need to initiate a debate
among the relevant actors on the level to which the systemic end structural
prerequisites for the creation of appropriate polices for gender equality have
been established on the one hand, and the effectiveness of the implementation of
the developed policies on another hand.
