Why is women’s participation in local planning and decision-making processes important? This was just one of the topics discussed during the training workshops for community animators held in April 2025 in Priler and Delchevo.

New women from new locations learned how to implement the field outreach methodology developed by Akcija Zdruzhenska.

During the workshops women from the villages of Razlovci, Trabatovishte and Crnik as well as from Buchin, Debreshte, Vodjani and Bela Voda spoke about the issues they face in their communities and shared experiences on whether they had ever sought help from the municipality to resolve a specific problem. They were introduced to the purpose and key questions relevant to the community needs assessment.

The women were introduced to community research as a method and also learned about mapping as a step for community enquiry. They were familiarized in detail with the structure and content of the questionnaire.
