Community Education: Women as Drivers of Change in Local Governance

Do you know exactly what your municipality does? How is the budget spent? And most importantly — is the voice of women heard enough in these processes?

Во рамки на иницијативата на LAG Agro Lider As part of the initiative by LAG Agro Lider to strengthen women’s participation in local governance and advocacy, an educational session was organized for women from the village of Debrešte, Dolneni.

The session focused on the responsibilities of the municipality and the services it should provide, as well as who is responsible for roads, education, and social protection. It also addressed the municipal budget — where public funds go and how citizens can influence their allocation.

During the session, participants discussed civic engagement and how women can take part in shaping local policies, submit initiatives, and be vocal and active in decision-making.

By strengthening knowledge, we also strengthen women’s power to create change! It is time for women to be equal partners in decisions that affect everyday life.

These activities are part of the project “Women Take the Lead in Local Communities,” implemented by The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation, Akcija Zdruzhenska, and the Humanitarian Association Majka – Kumanovo, funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Skopje.
