The organizations “Women’s Lobby” from Demir Kapija, “Radika De” from Debar, “Women's Action” from Radovish, the Women’s Organization from Strumica, “LAG Agro Leader” from Prilep, the Citizens’ Initiative of Women from Sveti Nikole, and the organization “Woman” from Delchevo are the seven new grantees within the project “Women Take the Lead in Local Communities.” This project is funded by the Delegation of the European Union, co-funded by Sweden, and implemented in partnership with the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation and the humanitarian association “Majka” from Kumanovo.
The activities implemented through these thematic grants aim to strengthen the connection between the organizations and the women in their communities and to encourage increased visibility of their voices and needs. This will be achieved through proposals for changing the exclusionary consultative practices and policies of local governments. Additional goals include building self-confidence, teamwork, awareness, skills for autonomous negotiation of their rights and access to local services, solidarity within the women's community, and improving communication with the relevant institutions responsible for policy implementation and service delivery in the areas in which each organization operates.
